Limitless, the global master development arm of Dubai World has showcased its SR45 billion Al Wasl project to HRH Prince Dr Mansoor Bin Mutib Ibn Abdul-Aziz AlSaud, Deptuy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, at the inauguration of the 2008 Riyadh Exhibition for Real Estate and Architecture Development (Restatex).
His Royal Highness discovered how the 1400 hectare project – and others planned by Limitless in KSA – will add a new dimension to the way millions of people will live in Saudi Arabia, and bring social and economic benefits by creating thousands of jobs.
Welcoming HRH to the Limitless stand, Imad Benharouga, Limitless Head of Corporate Strategy, said: “Al Wasl has received an overwhelming response from developers and investors who are keen to be part of our distinctive, tailor-made and sustainable city.
“Al Wasl, meaning ‘connection’, will join tradition with the future and urban spaces with the natural countryside. In delivering the project – which will house 200,000 people – Limitless will show how its skills in the master planning and execution of large-scale, balanced developments will help to address KSA’s rapidly-growing real estate needs.”
Al Wasl – the first in a series of projects for Limitless in KSA – will be located 27km north of Riyadh and 20km from King Khaled International Airport. It will comprise 55,000 homes; 55 mosques, offices; hotels; health and educational facilities; shopping malls, a sports stadium and its own environmentally-friendly transport system. There will also be over 300 hectares of green, open space – a hallmark of all Limitless developments.
A 25sqm model of the project is taking centre stage at the Limitless stand at Restatex, with the company’s eight other global developments also on show. Limitless is a silver sponsor of Restatex and, in March this year, was a strategic sponsor of the Saudi Travel and Tourism Investment Market.
