Construction of Halong Star, Limitless’ joint venture residential and tourism project in Halong Bay, Vietnam, will get underway this year following government approval of a new master plan and construction drawings, the Dubai developer said today.
Limitless received scale 1/500 approval – a key part of the Vietnamese construction permit process – from authorities in Quang Ninh Province, home of the 200 hectare, USD550 million project. A construction tender will be released shortly.
Limitless’ revised proposal for the project include 340 villas and apartments, a five star hotel, retail complex and leisure facilities.
Speaking in Vietnam at a meeting with Quang Ninh officials, Limitless Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said: “Halong Star is a new, sustainable mixed-use will match the needs of the Halong Bay community, serving existing residents and providing a new and unique destination for the growing number of tourists who visit this beautiful part of the world.
“Approval of our revised master plan is a major step forward for this project, and we look forward to beginning construction later this year.”
Halong Star will offer stunning views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay on Vietnam’s north-east coast. More than 1.2 million people visited the area in 2013, according to Halong Bay tourism figures.
