Safety first at The Galleries with free tyre checks

Limitless and Apollo Tyres are gearing up for a three-day Safe Drive campaign at The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali, where UAE drivers can get a free tyre health check from Sunday 27 November.
Experts from Apollo Tyres, one of the newest tenants at The Galleries’ office towers, will assess tyres for damage, wear and tear and pressure levels before providing written feedback and advice on future tyre maintenance.
Forty one per cent of cars in Dubai have faulty tyres, which are believed to be the cause of around 31 per cent of road accidents, according to report by Dubai Police in August 2011.  In addition, one in four drivers never checks their tyres, research shows.
Welcoming the initiative, Bahaa Abouhatab, Limitless Head of UAE Projects, said:  “This is the latest community event to be held at The Galleries.  We are delighted to support Apollo Tyres in its first road safety initiative in Dubai, which is open not only to our growing number of tenants but to the wider motoring public, too.”
Manish Parbhakar, Regional Head, Apollo Tyres Ltd, said:  “Apollo Safe Drive has been very successful in other countries.  This is a first for Dubai, and we plan to do this in various parts of the emirate to create the right level of awareness.  Over time, our campaign could help reduce incidences of tyre-related accidents on Dubai’s roads.”
Safe Drive takes place at The Galleries from 3pm to 6pm from Sunday 27 to Tuesday 29 November.  Checks are free, with no bookings required.  Motorists who take part will also receive a free set of valve caps and have their details entered into a prize draw.
To reach The Galleries, take exit 20 from Sheikh Zayed Road and follow the signs to Downtown Jebel Ali.  Once inside, look for the Apollo Tyres’ Drive Safe signs.
