70 Percent of Downtown Jebel Ali sold

Limitless, the global integrated real estate development arm of Dubai World, announced today that 70 per cent of its Downtown Jebel Ali development has now been sold

Zones 1 and 2 were bought within days of its launch, with another surge in sales in the wake of its advertising awareness campaign. Now, less than six months after its launch, only 30 per cent of Downtown Jebel Ali remains available.

Saeed Ahmed Saeed, Chief Executive Officer of Limitless, said: “Downtown Jebel Ali is a prime example of the distinctive, sustainable urban communities that Limitless builds. The response from investors has been overwhelming and confirms their belief in our vision.”

Local and international developers have invested in the 200 hectare, mixed-use project, which is currently under construction along Sheikh Zayed Road. Its first four commercial buildings will be completed by September of this year.

Downtown Jebel Ali will consist of four zones, and will stretch for 11 kilometres along Sheikh Zayed Road. Located between the Jebel Ali Free Zone and Techno Park, it will have 326 buildings, 237 of which will be residential. Designed to allow ample space between buildings, it will feature pedestrianised and congestion-free areas. Each zone will have three individual districts: The Urban Centre, The Trellis and The Medina, creating a blend of business, residential, shopping, dining and entertainment facilities.

Downtown Jebel Ali will also boast a rich, convenient transport system, which will enable people to live and work there without the need for a car. An internal “people mover” will use the latest technology to provide easy, environmentally-friendly travel within each zone; with stops every 300 metres.

There will also be four Dubai Metro stations for effortless travel between each zone, while road access will be via four new freeway interchanges.
